FRC 8085, Milford Mojo

ONE TEAM

Our Mission.

Through the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), Team 8085 provides a way for students to further their interest in STEM. Students develop the tools, skills, and attributes necessary to better prepare them for college and their professional careers.

Our Impact.

MOJO is a fee-free, community robotics program that helps students develop technical skills, leadership, and confidence through hands-on engineering. Our alumni have gone on to pursue STEM degrees and careers, and many credit MOJO as a major part of their growth.

This past year, we graduated four seniors who are now attending Central Connecticut, Purdue, Rutgers, and WPI.

Our Mojo.

In only our 2nd full season, Team 8085 won the Archimedes Division at the FIRST World Championships. As of 2025, we are one of only two 8000 teams that have competed on the Einstein field and one of the youngest teams to captain a division winning alliance.

2026 Season

MOJO is preparing for our seventh FRC season with returning students and new members joining from Milford and neighboring communities. We remain a fee-free program and are focused on student growth, engineering excellence, and community outreach.

This year's special goal: raise funds to support a dedicated team workspace, giving students a consistent place to build, learn, and collaborate.

 About FIRST

The FIRST organization (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) was founded in 1989 by Dean Kamen. Through a mentor-based teaching system. FIRST inspires young people to be science and technology leaders and innovators. It is the only sports where every athlete can go "professional."
